Dear Midwives and Friends,
This is an Urgent plea for your help for Honduras, the Garifuna and MediHand InternationaI Clinic there! At this moment, more that 7000-10,000 are dead, and 1,500,000 plus, are homeless and without water. Yes, over a million are homeless! This is tragic! So many children! MediHand Midwives and all midwifes, apprentices and students are all pitching in. We are collecting & shipping directly to Honduras, containers for Hurricane Mitch victims. With your help we can do more. (Exodus 1:20...therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied and waxed very mighty). Please join with us in our efforts to restore a little of their lives. Send parts of 'UN' used birth kits, gloves, alcohol, betadine, golden seal, tinctures and homeopathic, anything you can spare, toilet paper, Kleenex, Dial soap, disinfectants, Clorox, bottled water, baby items, baby bottles, diapers, dry milk and nonperishable foods, bandages, disposable syringes, whatever you can think of, anything for babies and mommies. Needed: Donations to purchase supplies, water containers, Clorox, Camping Gear, Batteries, Baby foods, diapers, rolls of plastic for make shift shelters, canned goods, mosquito and fly sprays, dial soap, hammers, nails, gasoline and much more. The list is never ending. (More "Needs" list at bottom.) Please pray. Tell your friends, call your churches, synagogues. Take a copy of this letter to them to read and send your very best gifts! Of course, we need cash to buy bottled water and rice and beans to carry us over until the utilities are restored. But you may also donate anything from the following lists, tax deductible. Without your help, many more will suffer and soon die. As you know, w/o potable waters great disease epidemics will breakout soon. There have been reports of Cholera. Typhoid, Dengue fever (from mosquitoes and humidity) are also on the rise, let alone the hundreds of people that are hurt and unreported. MORE ABOUT MediHand: http://www.zyworld.com/drlino
MediHand International a not for profit (501C6-3 pend) organization, based near Denver, Colorado. We are frantically working, in concert with many other organizations to get medical supplies and help to the people of La Ceiba, Honduras. Ceiba is a port on the mainland North Coast of Honduras that was very hard hit. It is homebase to many of the families of the Guanaja and Roatan Island victims. They are now homeless and cut off from the mainstream of life. At this moment, water is sparse and word is - water is getting polluted and people are drinking bad water for the lack of good water. Food also is low. It is feared by many, now that the rains have stopped, epidemics of Typhoid, Malaria and Dengue fever will begin soon. "I shall pass through this world, but once. Any good therefore that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, For I shall never pass this way again."
